The company meeting

So yesterday was the company meeting. My first. I was working at MS last year when it was company meeting time, but i was up in vancouver so i didn't join.

I've gotta say... it was a a great experience.

Sitting there seeign a staidum half full of people, like 20k people who make up about 25% of MS as a whole, and 50% of those in Redmond was... humbling. I looked around and felt.. wow. I work in a place with four times THIS MANY brilliant people... wow!

And I got an awesome blue snuggly for free :D Now i know who calls up those infomercials. "Hi, I'd like to order 10,000 snugglies please. Yes. 10,000. 1 Microsoft Way. Thank you."

Review season

It was review season, and i finally got my review... it's been a long wait since June when it started, and they sure took their sweet time.. but yay it's done! And i'm very happy with mine :D Bonus incoming in september :D i wonder what i will do with it....

So hurray, and hope everybody else did great too.

Rain

Last week I was sitting in my office when a very strange thought came to my mind.... I actually missed the rain!! It hadn't rained in quite a while here and I was shocked at myself for actually missing it. I share an office and it doesn't have a window, so I can't see when it's raining outside, but I can hear it. There is this super strange feature of my office where I can hear the rain falling right above my ceiling.. So for most of the year I have this "soothing / annoying" sound in my office, depending on how you feel about the constant sound of water falling. And it hadn't happened in a long while. And honestly I didn't miss that sound at all, I just missed the rain itself.. going out and driving home with some rain falling, the smell of rain in the air, the ultra cool air... Anyway. Not that i like continuous rain, I don't!

The next day it rained. I was very happy. Then it stopped, and I was again very happy.. Just a reminder of the rain is sufficient! :)
